Cherry Blossom Pendant

A springtime walk beneath blooming cherry trees inspired the creation of this pendant. Rather than interpreting the flower from memory, we photographed an actual cherry blossom in bloom and used it as the basis for the design. The original blossom that inspired the design can be viewed in the accompanying image gallery.

Cherry blossoms are celebrated for their fleeting beauty, appearing for only a brief period each year. The Cherry Blossom Pendant was created to preserve that moment in precious metal, allowing it to be enjoyed long after the blossoms have fallen.

Crafted in 20 karat rose gold, a gold fineness above the traditional luxury standard of 18 karat, the pendant captures the delicate structure of the flower in remarkable detail. The petals are finished with a high polish, while the pistil and stamen are rendered in matte-finished greenish-yellow gold, creating subtle contrast and depth. At the reverse, a stylized branch-form bale allows the pendant to be worn on a chain while maintaining the organic character of the design.

Two hundred and five round brilliant-cut diamonds are individually hand-set throughout the flower, totalling approximately 2.20 carats. The diamonds are VVS/VS clarity and E-F colour. Varying diamond sizes were intentionally selected to create a more natural and fluid appearance, echoing the irregular beauty found in nature.

The pavé work is exceptionally labour-intensive and requires the skill of a highly experienced setter, as even a single error can compromise the integrity of the design. To maximize brilliance and facilitate cleaning, the rear of the pendant has been opened behind the pavé-set diamonds, allowing additional light to enter the setting.

Each pendant bears the House of Vasa hallmark together with a metal fineness mark (833Au for 20 karat gold) and is accompanied by a certificate of origin documenting its serial number, authenticity, and date of purchase. All bespoke pendants include an 18 karat gold chain in the corresponding gold colour.
