Birks Diamond Ring, GIA G/VS1, c. 1940s–1950s
Created by the renowned Canadian jeweller Birks, this elegant vintage diamond ring dates to approximately the late 1940s to early 1950s.
At its centre is a round brilliant-cut diamond accompanied by a GIA report stating a weight of 0.24 carat, G colour, and VS1 clarity. The diamond retains a small open culet, a characteristic feature of transitional brilliant cuts from this period and a fascinating link between antique and modern diamond cutting styles.
The ring is crafted from 14 karat yellow gold with an 18 karat white gold ring head, a two-tone construction frequently seen in fine jewellery of the era. The accent diamonds are bright, lively, and well matched to the centre stone, adding subtle sparkle without overwhelming the design.
Founded in 1879, Birks became one of Canada's most respected luxury jewellers and remains synonymous with quality craftsmanship and timeless design. The Birks signature is stamped inside the band.
A beautiful example of mid-century Canadian jewellery, this ring combines excellent materials, period styling, and a documented diamond from one of the country's most celebrated jewellers.
