Vintage Five Diamond Ring
This vintage ring has five diamonds set into the unusual platinum-14 karat gold band. We believe this ring dates to the mid-20th century, circa late 1940s-1950s.
The ring is an illusion style setting with fishtail prongs.
During the 1940s it was common to reuse precious metals from older jewellery that was not "in fashion" to make a new piece as the precious metals were heavily restricted for the war effort.
This may be the reason why we see platinum and 14 karat gold used together.
The ring holds a round-brilliant cut diamond at its center, which is I-J colour, Si1 clarity; total diamond weight: 0.15 carat.
There are two single cut diamonds on either side of the center diamond, making a total of four accenting diamonds.
The band is made of platinum and 14 karat white gold.
The current ring size is 4 ½.
This item comes with a verification report from a certified independent appraiser.
