English Victorian Emerald and Diamond Ring c. 1871–1872

This charming English ring dates to approximately 1871–1872 and showcases a beautiful combination of vivid emeralds and richly coloured rose gold. The warm tone of the hand-carved band provides a striking contrast to the emeralds, creating a jewel that rewards close inspection.

Three emeralds form the centerpiece of the design: an oval cabochon-cut emerald flanked by two early round-cut emeralds. Four round brilliant-cut diamonds accent the arrangement, adding brightness and contrast.

Interestingly, the diamonds appear to be later additions to the ring. Their more modern cutting style suggests they may have replaced earlier stones or been added as a contemporary update during the ring's lifetime. For collectors who prefer period-correct gems, we can accommodate the replacement of the diamonds with antique cuts such as rose cuts, old mine cuts, or old European cuts. The hand-carved rose gold band is crafted in 9 karat gold and bears the Birmingham anchor hallmark. The accompanying date letter places the ring's manufacture between 1871 and 1872.

The ring is currently a size 6½.
